One morning we were headed down the elevator to get some yummy breakfast with my mom. You get in the elevator on one side and out the other side- anyway we weren't expecting the door to open on the side you get in but it opened on a lower floor for someone else to get in. Well Kell had her hands on that door and when it opened her little left hand slid in the wall with the elevator door. Kinda hard to explain. I was facing the other way and didn't see until she screamed in pain and because her hand was jamming the door from continuing to open, Courtland had to yank it out. Her poor little hand got completely smashed. We weren't sure if it was broken for a day or two because she wouldn't use that arm at all and it just hung to her side. But eventually she did and it turned out to be just fine. It just swelled up a bunch and bruised pretty good. It's always so hard to see your baby get hurt because there's not a whole lot you can do for them- it just breaks your heart!
(These pictures in no way do her hand justice- it looked a lot worse in person)
This is right after- we had her keep it elevated and iced it when she'd let us. All she wanted to do for the rest of the day was watch movies and snuggle. Good thing my mom was there to take care of Jason because she would not let me leave her side.
She was not a happy girl for a few days
